It's cold out here, and I've not been anywhere since New Year's Day. Mr. Driver thinks my alternator is finally going bad. At first I was worried he'd get rid of me over that, but the next day he and nozomichan05 go on a little field trip and they return with a replacement part. That tells me all I need to know. |

Imagine my dismay when I discovered that everything in my Morning Musume playlist on the iPod has been replaced by Mojo Nixon. Mr. Driver thinks it's hilarious. |

Horror anime isn't my bag, but Umineko is interesting. I wish yamikochan was able to watch it anyway, especially with Yui Horie in her role as Maria.
Recently I got new headlight assemblies! Think of it like getting new glasses. My old ones were getting all hazy and corroded inside. Hooray for ebay.
Then I was going to get new brake pads, as Mr. Driver thought they were wearing thin, but discovered they still had about halfway to go. Shows what you know, o ye of little faith.
Hmph. I'm tired of work commute duty and would like a change of scenery. And I'd like to have my trunk cleaned out properly. |

My odometer ticked past 350,000 over the weekend. Meanwhile a friend of Mr. Driver's has a Civic that has even more.
Mr. Driver says that next year I could get "classic" plates. I'm not sure how I feel about that. |

Mr. Driver has been trying to break my mind with the 10 hours of mash-up music that he found. Then he tries to break Nozomi's mind with the Pani Poni Dash OVA.
His 2nd attempt may have been more successful. |

[May. 8th, 2009|06:45 pm] |
Mr. Driver left his cellphone with me. 'Tis highly unusual for him to do that, but I'll enjoy it while I can.
In other news, it looks like there's no trip to AX this year.
And I think my new sister is being coddled too much. She gets weekends, I get work commutes. In the rain. I can't blame her for it since the final decision rests with you-know-who. She's younger and in better shape than me which makes it all the more puzzling. Back in '98 when Mr. Driver picked me up, I was put into immediate service and my predecessor, an ill-tempered 300ZX, was largely pushed aside the same day. That 300ZX also had less than half the mileage then as what I have now.
I can't figure it out. |

| | "Don't Say Lazy" - K-On | ] | My sister and I are going through extended gas mileage tests, covering about 5 or 6 tanks of gas for this. Currently I'm averaging right over 30mpg. That's despite things like Mr. Driver going at absurd speeds, and me having 346k miles. The results for Nozomi however, are slightly less. But there are reasons for that as well.
He went and got himself a much larger monitor, and it's made anime watching easier. We've been watching "K-on", and some "Yozakura Quartet" which is kinda like Ghostbusters where the team is composed of youkai.
I'm not sure: Should I join the Illuminati? Or am I just bored? |

| | ready to go | ] | Nozomi is still learning to use the internet here. I guess her previous driver didn't allow her to use computers or never bothered to show her or what. Sigh, more work for me. But I don't mind. I'm trying to get her to start an LJ, and then her shyness makes her back out at the last minute. Then again yamikochan pestered me to get one, and I balked at it for about seven months. What comes around goes around.
The girl's got an appetite. Mr. Driver said he got as low as 23mpg out of her, but then again the whole VTEC thing and winter. I told him quit mashing her gas pedal and revving up to 8k and she won't get as hungry.
I'm able to post my real age in my profile now. If I did that as soon as I made this journal, I would have been labeled as underage and then it would be a hassle for Mr. Driver to sort out. Call it a hunch but I suspect I'm not going to have a problem with stalkers and such.
Mr. Driver needs to lose weight so he'll snore less. It's for your own good, dude. |

| | "Silky Heart" - Yui Horie | ] | Nozomi-chan is getting settled in but I'm still doing most of the driving. Kinda weird doing that, and I'm probably going to Katsucon as well. It was different when yamikochan first came home; she was on non-stop driving duty for a solid YEAR. That may have had a lot to do with her being new and me needing some work and Mr. Driver being too lazy to take care of that.
When Mr. Driver starts her up, then realizes he forgot something and goes back inside, leaving her to run unattended, she gets all paranoid and nervous. Then again she was in upstate New Jersey the past three years, which is also why she can't seem to wrap her head around self-serve gas stations. But I think she'll adapt.
Ah I've picked up a liking for Yui Horie from you-know-who. |

Mr. Driver and I looked at some used cars awhile ago. We found a couple contenders that will need to be looked at more closely, and a couple more that won't be considered any more at all. But all Mr. Driver has been saying is "not yet".
I got new tires recently. The set I had before was wearing oddly, and Mr. Driver thinks my shocks are going bad. Wouldn't surprise me, after this many years and zillions of miles. Then he replaced the clutch slave cylinder. The other one didn't last very long, I suppose. Shifting is good. Well, proper shifting involving the clutch. It's possible to shift without it, but holy hell does it hurt. Next up was a new muffler for Christmas.
His roommate moved out again. It got to the point where she was never around anyway, and Mr. Driver discovered most of her stuff was gone. Gee, thanks for the goodbye? This disappearing act of hers is nothing new, sadly.
Earlier this evening, Mr. Driver told me about a dream he had where yamikochan was still alive, nothing had happened. Like the accident was all a bad dream.
We can only wish. |

( Read more... ) Yeah, it's that Epic Road Trip that added most of them for her. I have some catching up to do. In the meantime, I'm getting ready for anime club. |

| | lonely | ] | I guess I'm back. Haven't felt like getting online much lately. Busy. Busy and sad. I found some various drafts that yamikochan wrote up but never bothered to post, so I might sort those out and post them.
Every time Mr. Driver and I come home, I still expect to see her there, waiting for us. I still wonder what sort of things she found during the day, whether she had given names to the various stray cats yet, or if she'd even be awake when we got home. Sometimes when we get home, instead of going right inside, Mr. Driver will give me a hug. He doesn't say much and seems to have moved on, but he still misses her too.
Mr. Driver gave me her radio, the one she had for a little over a year. Yeah it's neat to have full control over the iPod. I just really wish I got it under better circumstances.
Sure she had gone to pretty much all of the conventions for the past year, and her road trip covered over twice the mileage that mine was, and I admit I was jealous over that. But not so much now.
This is about all I can come up with for now. Maybe I'll be back on later today or later this month. |

| | some sort of techno-trance stream | ] | Epic Road Trip '08 is coming! But I probably won't go on that. I could handle it, and I'd be flattered if I was chosen for this trip as well as having the bragging rights afterwards, but Lil' Sister deserves some multi-state glory.
Mr. Driver yanked out my passenger seat and was going to vacuum the floor underneath, but has yet to get around to that. Now it's sitting in his kitchen, as it's been for the past couple days. And since it took three men to open my hood for an oil change, he also tackled that by yanking the latch out and hosing it down with some sort of lube that smells suspiciously like bug-spray.
Despite recent adventures, I'm still "on duty" as it were. |
